Choosing a UX Based Concept for your CMS


In this blog post I’m going to summarize the UX goals that I hope to implement into within my main website for the CA2. Firstly the website genre that I hope to do is a blog post website and I hope to base it on a Film or TV show website. I’m hoping to base it on a certain tv show or maybe even on a series of films or singular film. Two UX features that I hope to incorporate into the site will be implementing certain features into the sidebar such as the calendar making it available. I also will hopefully implement a new logo into the site making it available and if you click it then it brings you back to the home page. I also hope to use an anti spam UX plug in and also high fidelity images and videos to go along with my film images. While researching UX or also known as user experience and researching themes on WordPress.org I found a theme that could help with my website called ‘Movie Review Hub’. I then found two journal article’s (academic) and (non-academic) that really helped explain user experience further and helped clarify it. While reading the academic article “Attitudes towards user experience (UX) measurement”. In this academic article it talks about the UX and defining the UX in general and how it all works and interviews ten UX researchers and a person in the UX industry. This has helped a lot with smaller features of UX as much as the big ones as I hope to do a film/tv show blog , you want a certain amount of comments appearing on the page and also how the images videos are displayed as well as played. 

In the second article it really helped with the smaller features also that I could use with UX on WordPress and the plugins that I may need to research and use and prepare for further on for the CA2 assignment. I also thought of how I hope to implement the theme and also some code snippets to implement them into my site and so I can use all three snippets, plug ins as well as the theme to help with my UX. While I have this blog uploaded I also seen Jordan from my college course year who also would be using similar UX to myself such as the comment plug in that’ll deal with the likes of spam and won’t allow bad language and so on to be posted on the site.

Final Website Migrated, Plugins and Code Snippet Choices.

  Final Website Migrated, Plugins and Code Snippet Choices.  The general process that I used for migrating my local host WordPress site online was a plug-in. The plug-in that I did use was the all in one WP migration plug-in. This plug-in was quite simple to use as once I was happy with my site I simply activated this plug-in and exported it to my computer by file. Once this was done I bought hosting and a domain name using Black Knight, from this I went into the file directory and downloaded WordPress and got my login details from here I logged into the other WordPress downloaded all in one WP migration plug-in and then imported the file there. This is how I migrated my local host online. Some problems I ran into was trying to use IFastNet as a hosting but just refused to work for me. The hosting company I chose was Black Knight as was easy enough to use and worked well.
